I see on Slashdot that it has been 25 years since Super Mario Bros. was released. For me it's been a great year to celebrate this anniversary.
My eldest son turned 4 a couple of weeks back, and has really come into his own as a gamer in the past few months. Not all that long ago, in anticipation of the release of Super Mario Galaxy 2 I decided to replay Super Mario Galaxy with him in the room and to a certain degree I've created a little monster.
I got 117 stars before May and Galaxy 2 rolled around (and actually just got 2 more this past weekend - only Purple Coins on Luigi in Toy Time Galaxy to go!) and entirely and completely at his behest - with absolutely no desire of my own, for real honest why do you keep looking at me like that - acquired all 120 in Super Mario Galaxy 2 (as well as a dozen or so green ones so far).
Over the summer we also tackled Super Mario Bros Wii, though haven't yet acquired enough Star Coins in any one world to unlock a door in the bonus world.
And finally, as an entirely-too-decadent 4th birthday gift (not from me, which kind of gets under my hackles but that is perhaps a complaint for another day) he received a DS as well as New Super Mario Brothers wherein we have only just a few days ago toppled Bowser Jr and the (entirely unsurprising) surprise co-villain to end the game.
My son is definitely a Mario fan. We played a very little bit of Twilight Princess but he hasn't asked for it since that first session, preferring instead to revisit one of the 4 Mario titles we have. Like father like son, I suppose. If I could only play Mario games the rest of my days (and for the next few years at least that may be my reality) I would be a happy person indeed.
I can't believe that it's been 25 years since Mario has been around. Actually, this game is one of my all-time favorites. Anyway, good to know that your son liked it too.

You really get what you pay for with the Rosetta stone language courses . If you’re looking for other benefits, consider that fact that you don’t have to commute to college in order to learn a foreign language. Rosetta stone’s lack of compatibility with PDA’s is not a very serious drawback, especially if you don’t want to drive or walk to school anyway. If you intend to study a language entirely at home, then Rosetta stone is the best alternative to sitting in a class room. Another benefit of utilizing this powerful language learning tool is in preparation for a college course. You can use the software to learn the language and then fly through your college course, get a letter A grade, and apply the credits toward a degree or certificate. I think you will have interests to see rosetta stone discount.

Super Mario Galaxy 2. IGN, infamous for givnig many games bad reviews, gave SMG2 it's first 10/10 since Metal Gear Solid 4 in early 2008.It also recieved perfect scores from Edge, GameSpot, and GamesRadar, along with very good scores from 1up.com, Metacritic, GamePro, and Official Nintendo Magazine (all at least, 4/5 stars, over 95%, etc.).

Definitely agree with Dave about the palpable mecnae of the Mario games. I remember nearly wetting myself the first time that big hand grabbed me off the bridge in world 8 of SMB3. And dreading crossing it every time thereafter. Those mask things in SMB2 that chase you really bothered me. And let's not get started with the creepiness of Birdo. Super Mario World was the first cheery Mario game. I guess we could argue about whether Miyamoto *intended* the earlier games to be cheery but was prevented technically from doing so.One thing that really struck me about this ad is how aggressively the viewer is encouraged to view the game activities as representative of real world activities. If only you used your imagination, going into that 8-bit triangle was just like exploring a real pyramid! We've become game-literate enough now that ads can just let gameplay speak for itself, but back then it was almost certainly necessary.

Great point! New social and causal games are nice and simple, so have a similar focus on just a few key verbs . The most important thing players need to know about a game is what they get to DO, and in SMB2 it was all about throwing.

When you collect all the Star coins ( even the world 9 ), beat Bowser again in world 8 you'll see an alnratete ending Peach saying something different after the credits.

that's exactly how I made it. However, some of the fraems are obviously just repeated over and over, like the parts where they are just running and no other objects enters the screen . Thank you very much

Welcome new galaxy! at the end of the first Galaxy). Most polepe, including me, think that Galaxy 2 takes place 100 years after Galaxy, but some think that it begins where Galaxy ended.Mario games, like Zelda games, doesn't have a timeline, but Miyamoto might tell us the answer to your question some day, maybe in the Nintendo Magazine.

Its funny how everyone has their own ltilte ways of bringing luck to their machine. If im on a machine and I get the free spins, as long as I am awarded at least 8 free spins, I always say Retrigger when 7 spins are left, and Big Win when there are 4 spins left. It probably doesnt make a difference, but at least it makes the bonus more involved for me.
