On the whole, it's worked very well, but I'm running into some problems. For example, it turns out that my tennis followers are bigger (or at least more engaged) Harry Potter fans than my regular followers. Also, as you know, I'm quite an Anglophile, and many more of my tennis followers are British, as compared to my regular account. Sure, I could tell everyone to follow both accounts, but let's face it - that's not really going to happen. So sectioning off my interests has turned into a complicated affair.
I know that Circles could solve most of these problems. For example, I could have circles for tennis, Harry Potter, Anglophiliacs, etc. (Yes, you will find me in the dictionary under Dorkus Spectacularis.) But although I'll enjoy the convenience of controling both my message and my audience, all this siphoning of different parts of my personality still has a schizophrenic feeling to me that is not entirely welcome.
My IRL friend Valarie, (who is active on line) on the problem with Google Circles. No link, because it's a limited Circle share! So sad!
