Mark Wilkie and I are having a Web 2.0 conference tomorrow at 3pm. Venue: The Shake Shack. Speakers: TBA.
UPDATE:
Jason Kottke has purchased a keynote at the conference. (Whether or not he keynotes is another matter). All participants who attend will receive this Deck-sized ad that they can place on their website. Thanks to our "Motivator" sponsors at Mule Design for the badge.
To particpate in the virtual Web 2.0 Shake Shack conference, place this badge on your web site:
I would like to purchase a keynote at your conference. I don't have anything to offer the conference attendees in the way of insight or information, but I do have lots of money.

Fantastic. We will have 120x90 pixel t-shirts made for all attendees. (paid attendees, of course).

This is so typical of Web 2.0: ALL MALE SPEAKERS!! When will you people learn?! Why can't you invite WOMEN too?!?!
Posted by: megnut | June 05, 2006 at 12:55 PM
Megnut, when will you learn??? This is an UNCONFERENCE. therefore there are no speakers, except for the speakers that assert themselves. Therefore there are no race or gender issues.
Meanwhile, I have just penciled you in for 4 speaking slots (3:05, 3:09, 3:17, 3:21). So now it's a moot point, we have a majority women speakers.

Too late, I've already organized my own all women web 2.0 unconference. I won't be attending yours.

Mark Wilkie and I are holding an emergency meeting to discuss your concerns.

Appreciated but a little reactive, don't you think? Next time be proactive and reach out to the women first!

The last time DJ reached out to women there was a lot of paperwork.

It's a little sad how fast self-parody becomes potentially hurtful in the web 2.0 world!

To clarify - my comment was not directed towards Mike, rather towards comments made in private that we decided not to post for fear of cutting to close to the bone.
If I could show my posts only to friends and family....

It has come to my attention that some hello, typepad readers were under the impression that the conference is tomorrow, as it's written above. Hello, timestamp! I wrote this yesterday. Web 2.0 has come and gone.
