Lia and Anil beat me to blogging my moblog of Leonardo DiCaprio ordering carrot cake with a homemade oreo cookie at Westville last night. Alaina wrote a nice review of the restaraunt over at NYC Eats, although she generously neglected to mention the service (or lack thereof).
The cake was delicious, and after a couple of bites an anonymouse "vegan" source concurred. Our friends Jason and Silas were kicking themselves for not looking the other direction, where Gisele was patiently waiting for her oreo, which Jason proclaimed "just like a regular oreo." Always the good sport, Westville hostess Sabah assured us Gisele was "not all that." Right.
Later, we saw Golden Girls Live, a performance of two classic GG episodes. Much later, Lia and I played billiards with Jude and Devon.
Update: Leo returned the next day and ordered two turkey sandwiches. They took about 15 minutes to prepare, and Leo took this opportunity to hob knob with staff and Westville patrons. Gisele was again outside with their bicycles, smoking a cigarette this time. Leo asked that they set aside some desert for him and G, which he returned for later.
let me guess, it's like this all the time in new york?

Wow, I love Westville, and that's right in my neighborhood. How come I never see Leo?

Sadly, this story predates the Nokia 3650.
axt has purchased tickets to the 7:15 Bowling for Columbine, and dj leaves work around 6:15 to go meet her. There was an accident at Canal St., so dj has to walk in the pouring rain from Canal St over to the Sunshine Cinema @ Houson & 1st Ave. It's a mob scene, since all the showings are sold out, even two showings that were not advertised. dj sights axt, standing right next to PP. axt lowers her umbrella and motions to a drenched dj.
axt: "hi!"
dj: "THAT WAS PARKER POSEY!"
axt: "I know, I've been standing next to her in the pouring rain for twenty minutes!"
dj and axt head into the theater. axt ducks into the bathroom and dj reserves seats. axt comes and meets dj, who ducks out to buy popcorn and go to the bathroom. Upon return:
dj "I can't believe you were standing next to Parker Posey!"
axt "Shhhh - that's her husband!" (points to the row behind)
(Pan Camera up one row and two seats. PP's husband is the same man Irene and dj spotted near Angelika's Kitchen once, though he's slimmed down a bit. He has short golden curls. Rumor has it PP's husband started a successful poetry journal)
dj looks puzzled
axt "PP is waiting for their friends to show up." (motions to 3 saved seats)
dj "If I was PP's husband, she would NEVER wait in the rain!"
axt "I WAS JUST WAITING IN THE POURING RAIN FOR 20 MINUTES!"
dj "um, om, oops, PP *would* have to wait when the N breaks down!"
enter pp. she looks as if all of new york city is a movie and she is the star. She is wearing jeans, a cute fall puffy jacket and lots of accessories and things underneath. Her hair has been dyed a reddish tone and her makeup is perfect. dj tries unsuccessfully not to stare.
PP laughs, loudly, during the Adaptation trailer, and then starts clapping at the end of it. Following PP's lead, others in the audience clap and cheer. dj and axt quietly hiss and boo. When will Nicolas Cage retire? PP laughs loudly during the film and leaves quickly when it's done.

DJ, you ALREADY blogged it. That's why they blogged it. They didn't "beat" you -- you ORIGINATED the story.
Moblogging == blogging.
What is this, an Isaac Asimov story?

No, dude! They blogged my moblogging before I blogged it. Then Alaina blogged it, see? But you're right, it makes no sense it retrospect. It made a lot of sense in the 12 hours after it happened. You had to be there. Sorry dude.
