Nintendo DS Brain Age
Come for the Sudoku, stay for the Math Triangle. "Brain Hacks in a box." - Anil Dash. (*****)
Nintendo: Nintendo DS - Animal Crossing: Wild World
I'm David, living in Brooklyn. (*****)
Capcom: Nintendo DS Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble
Viewtiful is the new Mario - discuss. (****)
Nintendo: Nintendo DS Mario Kart Bundle
The Red DS, with Mario Kart included. (*****)
Nintendo: DS Mario Kart
Best. Kart. Ever. (*****)
Nintendogs - Chihuahua
It's here! Only $14.99 at Target.
Nintendo DS Zoo Keeper
Mike from Mule Design says: "Simple and addictive matching game. Crack for the DS." I love it too. (*****)
O3 Software: Alien Hominid
Rrecommended by Souris, side scroller with old-school personality and Viewtiful Joe sense of humor. The Nintendo polish that I expect isn't quite there, and it feels like a Playstation port of an old arcade game (the usual nintendo buttons don't work - b for back, for instance). This is partly intentional, I know, but I think this game is intended for more serious gamers. (***)
Nintendo DS
At once overhyped and misunderstood. Mario 64 DS is wonderful. (*****)
Spider-Man 2: The Movie 2
My favorite non-Nintendo produced Gamecube game, by far. Best graphics outside of Zelda, and fastest action outside of Ikaruga. (****)
Nintendo: Wario Ware, Inc.:Mega Microgame$
Should come included with the DS! (*****)
GameCube Broadband Adapter
Why stop at 1? Why not buy 3? (****)
BELKIN A3X126-7BK 7-Foot CAT 5e UTP Crossover Cable
If you don't have a computer genius around to cut your standard ethernet cable in half and rewire it, you'll need one of these. This is overpriced but convenient. (**)
Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
We love this. (*****)
Miyamoto: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
More than reason enough to buy a Nintendo. Probably the most beautiful video game ever made. (*****)
Just some things that came up in discussion with friends this weekend.
I would like the DS to be able to connect to the GCN in the same manner the GBA does currently, to be used as an extra screen and controller.
If a wired connection is necessary for this functionality (see below for another option) then it would be great if the DS would act as a wireless NIC to connect the GCN to the Internet so I don't need to buy a broadband adapter as well.
It would be niftycool if there were a WAP peripheral for the GCN that allowed DSes to wirelessly connect. There would then be no need to limit the number of players to 4, if each player has a DS they have their own screen and controller, so why not 8 or 16 players all at once?
Droolishious.
With the DS's voice abilities you could have that fancy Internet chat stuff going on, too. Not as good as a headset, but perhaps better than nothing?

Wireless file transfers from my Mac for loading homebrews and extra apps.

It will be wifi capable, I saw it on the Nintendo Press Conference video.

I strongly doubt Nintendo will support independant development. As much as I'd love love love to see a console mod community developed, it doesn't seem to be in the cards.
I'd suspect XBox would get there first in fact, because of the strong ties to the PC gaming community, which is heavily mod influenced.
Although if Nintendo really wanted to change the face of gaming, encouraging independant development could be a brilliant way of doing it.

This discussion seems familiar... :)
Clearly, someone is going to hack their way into the DS's internals via the wifi connection within a week of the DS release. So I think there's a chance Nintendo will open up some kind of easily accessible dev kit. But, who knows.

There's a huge GBA mod and homebrew community, they just have to use quasi-legal (and expensive) game-wallet devices to load their software. Unfortunately this is largely used for game piracy, so it's obviously doubtful that there would ever be any nintendo-provided connectivity between computers and gameboys.

it would be awsome if you could care for your own pokemon. you know, choose a pokemon like eevee or charmander. watch them evolve, play with them, pet them (with the touch screen)
feed them. just like a virtual pokemon pet.

it would be nice if the GBADS had a team mode when they get there nintendo ds in the box it would come with a screen name.
example: my frtiends screen name is froger say i wanted to team up with him. i would put in his screen name and it would tell me if his nintendo ds was on if it is it would send him a message seeing if he wanted to play that game.

I think it would be wicked awsome if the gbds couldhave an extention adapter to be able to play the regular N64 games, of coures the port would need it's own batteries, but it would be really cool to be able to play reg. N64 games in the car on the way to Gram's!

I think that the things the DS can do are already amazing, I just want the DS to have games that apeal to older gamers like myself.

i wonder if the ds has a light like the sp and i also wish there would be a way to have like a box that connected you wirelessly to the internet so you could chat with any one in the world or even in your own state would be cool.

i strongly support the music idea, being that there is a headphone jack for personal entertainment. Maybe it could be some sort of mp3 sytem in cartridge form.
WHO KNOWS?!?!? THE POSSABILITIES
ARE ENDLESS, I SAY, ENDLESS!!!!

technically there's no "GBADS"... it's NDS :p

USB flash linkers are evidently still operational for the Nintendo DS. This is good news to anybody who plays homebrews or uses any of the other cool applications that have been written for the GBA (NES and SNES emulators, movie players, etc)
This is the only flash linker that has a loader program for OS X:

I wonder, does Nintendo ever plan to make an adapter, etc. like the Gamboy player for the DS games? It would be great to play some of the DS games on the TV also.

"It would be great to play some of the DS games on the TV also."
sorry, that won't happen. unless you have a magical touch screen tv.
(put wireless into it and use the DS as a controller)

V-Pocket for DS could have a movie player, mp3 player, use Wi-fi for net, GPS, and could use compact flash/sd cards for storage. Sync with computer through wi-fi, with contacts and phone numbers. Could even have voice recorder and voice activation. Could even chat with others who have V-Pocket. There are no limits. 3d Graphics, touch screen, microphone, wireless, and dual arm processors, Nintendo just has to do it.

I just wish that EASports would make a DS version of NCAA Football. If so, I would definitely buy the DS / DS Lite. THAT would be awesome.
