I have decided to show you the “Unwritten Rulebook.” Understand that what I am doing is going to bother a lot of players. But it is time for you to see this. You will notice that the rules are presented in outline form. There is a rule and its corresponding definition. In the end there is a summary and finally instructions about who can and cannot see this.

So EA's John Madden is on for a brief guest spot at 8:15 every morning in the Bay Area. And the morning after A-Rod walked across the mound, the radio hosts were discussing said transgression with Mr. Madden, with the theme of "it's an unwritten rule that you just don't do that."
Mr. Madden, staying true to form, commented "There seem to be a lot of unwritten rules in baseball. If they really want them to be followed, they should just write them down."
