To warm up, blow up the atmosphere

I was feeling bad for feeling sorry for myself, until a friend pointed out that it's warmer on Mars than in New York City.

Elsewhere in the weather, Bob Herbert praises Gore's environmental advocacy work while Lloyd Grove was bored by it. Grove also got the scoop on Richard Belzer's new project, which he's producing on Madonna's tab:

"It will be a savage, hysterically funny sendup of American pop culture, covering everything from fast food to gay and straight politics to music to television movie trailers to Americans' addiction to the Internet," said Belzer, who plays Detective Munch on the hit NBC series.
